Overview:
Join the maintenance team to diagnose, service and repair heavy construction and commercial equipment including JCB excavators, shovels, MAN/Volvo/Mercedes-Benz trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. Work in a busy workshop environment supporting fleet uptime and safety while following maintenance schedules and quality standards.

Overview:
Join the maintenance team to diagnose, service and repair heavy construction and commercial equipment including JCB excavators, shovels, MAN/Volvo/Mercedes-Benz trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles. Work in a busy workshop environment supporting fleet uptime and safety while following maintenance schedules and quality standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions and drivetrains on heavy equipment and trucks
- Perform scheduled maintenance: oil changes, filter replacement, lubrication, cooling system service and valve adjustments
- Repair and rebuild hydraulic pumps, cylinders, hoses and control valves; troubleshoot leaks and pressure issues
- Overhaul engines, clutches and differentials; remove and refit major assemblies as required
- Conduct electrical fault diagnosis for starting, charging and auxiliary systems and repair wiring, sensors and starters
- Fit and align components, perform pressure testing and torque procedures
- Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory and follow workshop safety procedures
What we’re looking for
- Minimum 5 years practical experience repairing heavy construction equipment and commercial trucks (JCB, shovel/excavator, Volvo, MAN, Mercedes-Benz)
- Demonstrable hands-on experience with heavy diesel and hydraulic systems (minimum 2-3 years)
- Ability to diagnose diesel engine and hydraulic system faults using hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Skilled in hydraulic pump/cylinder repair, hose fitting, pressure testing and leak rectification
- Competent with engine overhauls, gearbox/clutch repairs and drivetrain service procedures
- Electrical troubleshooting for 12V/24V systems, starters, alternators and sensors
- Familiarity with workshop safety, welding basics, torque procedures and use of lifting equipment
- Ability to read technical manuals, service schematics and hydraulic diagrams
- Strong time management, record keeping and parts inventory awareness to reduce downtime
